Cultural programme at BVB Mysuru

Mysuru: As part of its monthly cultural programme, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Mysuru Kendra, has organised ‘Sundara Kanda’ by Kalayogi Guru Vid. S. Raghu Nandan and team at BVB Mysuru premises in Vijayanagar 1st Stage at 6 pm on June 20. For details, contact Mob: 99860-02207. 

Profile: A performer of high calibre, a creative choreographer and a dedicated teacher, S. Raghu Nandan is an artiste devoted to the field of Bharatanatyam.  

He proudly continues the legacy passed down from his grandfather Natyacharya Guru H.R. Keshava Murthy, who was a central S.N.A. awardee. He is the son and disciple of Karnataka Kalashree Dr. Guru B.K. Shyam Prakash and Vidu. Geetha Shyam Prakash. Raghu Nandan has many awards & accolades to his credit including the prestigious ‘Kalaa Yogi’ title from Indian Council of Cultural Relation, Bengaluru, in 2016.  

Raghunandan is an auditioned artiste of Doordarshan. He holds Master of Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam, distinction in Vidwat as well as Master’s Degree in Sanskrit. Being trained in mridanga as well, he is often invited as a guest Natuvanaar. He holds a  Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication and Engineering and is also an IT professional.  

He has performed in 70 major dance-dramas with lead roles. He has represented India at Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Sydney, Australia and recently across various States of USA for dance performances, workshops and lectures.  

Currently, he is the Principal of Keshava College of Dance & Music and is the Director of Keshava Nrithya Shala, Bengaluru and also the Managing Director of Samskruthi Bhavan Trust.
