Cyclothon: Over 100 cycle for a healthy heart

World over the last Sunday of September every year is observed as “World Heart Day”  since 1999. The objective behind observing “World Heart Day” is to create awareness of heart diseases which kill nearly 1.78 crore people around the world.

Nearly 80 percent of these deaths occur in developing countries like India.  Sadly, more than 50 percent of heart disease-related deaths occur in persons less than 50 years of age.

This year’s slogan for World Heart Day is “My Heart,Your Heart.” To share the knowledge about heart disease and its prevention, Cauvery Heart & Multi-Speciality Hospital, Siddarthanagar, Mysuru, had organised a Cyclothon, “Cycling for a healthy heart” to create awareness among the public.

The Cyclothon, which started  from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, passed through the main thoroughfares of the city and culminated at Cauvery Heart & Multi-Speciality Hospital.

The event was inaugurated by the chief guest and MCC Commissioner K.H. Jagadeesha and  MCC Additional Commissioner G.M. Ravindra.

Sandeep Patel, Facility Director,  Cauvery Hospital & Team were present at the event.

On this occasion, Cauvery Heart Hospital released Special Cardiac Health Checkup Package & Emergency 60 Minute Golden  Hour Brochure for the benefit for public.

The programme, supported by Trin Trin Bicycle Company, had nearly 100 participants led by leading Consultants of Cauvery Heart & Multi-Speciality Hospital along with their staff and general public.
