Mysuru: Columnist and retired senior officer Dr.V. Ranganath has secured D. Litt (Doctor of Letters) from Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University.

He had submitted a thesis on ‘Studies on Music and Culture during the period of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.’ The D. Litt will be presented to Ranganath during the next convocation of the Music University.

The University has also selected noted singer Dr. Jyothi Shankar for the award of D. Litt honouring her thesis titled ‘Karnataka Shastriya Sangeethada Hinneleyalli Samagra Haridasa Sahitya Ondu Vivechane.’ The degree will be presented during the next convocation.
