Dacoity, murder bid foiled:4 arrested; lethal weapons, cell phone, vehicle seized

The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, during their special beat on Mar. 20 early morning, arrested four persons who were waiting in a car near GTTC in Metagalli Industrial area to commit dacoity and have seized two longs, two daggers, six mobile phones, chilly powder Rs. 16,200 cash and a Nissan Terrano vehicle from them.

The arrested have been identified as H.S. Nagalingaswamy, a native of Malavalli taluk and residing in Rajajinagar in Bengaluru, K.S. Raghavendra, a native of Tiptur taluk and residing at Rajajinagar in Bengaluru, Subramani, a native of K.R. Nagar and residing in Aralakgud taluk and Basavaraju, a resident of Chandagala village in Mandya district.

During interrogation, the Police came to know that Nagalingaswamy had given supari to Basavaraju, who is serving a jail sentence in Mysuru Central Prisons to eliminate one Naveen of Bengaluru. Following the information provided by Nagalingaswamy, the CCB Police have taken Basavaraju into  their custody.

CCB Inspector Prasanna Kumar led SI M.J. Jayasheelan, ASI Shantharaju and staff Asgar Khan, Hiranaiah, D. Sreenivasa Prasad, Parvathamma, K.M. Mahadevappa, C.M. Manju, Gurudevaradhya, Shyamsundar, Shailesh and Dhananjay in the nabbing and seizing operation.
