Dakshina Kesari Kannada Sahitya Award presented

Mysuru: Dakshina Kesari Kannada Sahitya Prashasti-2017, the Kannada Literary Award instituted by Lions Club of Mysore South, was presented to Dr. M.S. Veda, Professor in Kannada Studies and Littérateur, as part of Kannada Rajyotsava celebration held at a private hotel in city recently.

The award was presented by MLA Ln. M.K. Somashekar in the presence of other dignitaries and the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Somasekhar congratulated Dr. Veda for winning the coveted award this year and appreciated the good work done by her in promotion of the Kannada Literature.

Earlier, Prof. M. Varadaraju introduced Dr. Veda to the gathering and elaborated the details of her Kannada Literary Works.

Speaking on the occasion, Ln. Prof. K.P. Kumar stated that the earlier winners of this award were Dr. Benum Chandraiah, Dr. D. Javregowda, Dr. Ramegowda, T.N. Seetharam, Dr. B.S. Sannaiah, Dr. P.K. Rajasekhar, Dr. M.S. Krishnamurthy, Dr. G.R. Thippeswamy, Dr. Latha Rajasekhar, Dr. Krishnamurthy Hanoor, Dr. H.J. Lakkappa Gowda, Dr. C. Naganna, late journalist Rajasekhar Koti and other stalwarts of Kannada Literature.

Ln. H. Ashwath Narayan, the Deputy District Cabinet Secretary, Lions Clubs International, Dist. 317 A, was the chief guest.

Ln. H. Ramesh, District Chairperson for Kannada & Culture, Lions Clubs International, Dist. 317 A, was the guest of honour. Region Chairperson Ln. Nasir Mohammed and Zone Chairperson, Ln. P. Rajan and a large number of people from different walks of life were present.
