Mysuru: The 7th Akhila Bharatha Dalit Yuva Sahitya Sammelana will take place at Dharwad on June 24 (Saturday).

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Dalit Sahitya Parishat District President Dr. B.K. Puttananjaiah said the meet will take place at Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha premises in Dharwad.

Thinker Dr. Samatha B. Deshamane has been named as the Chairperson of the Sammelana. IPS Officer and writer Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti will inaugurate the Sammelana at 9.30 am. Another IPS Officer M. Nanjundaswamy will release the works published by Dalit Sahitya Parishat, while journalist Dr. Mallikarjuna Siddannanavar will release Dalit Sahitya Parishat’s publication Dalitodaya.

The day-long meet will feature seminars, interactions and poets meet. Achievers from various fields — Dr. H.B. Raghottam and Dr. M.S. Shekar from Mysuru, Dr. Rangaraja Vanadurga from Belagavi, Dr. Shivananda Kelaginamani of Shivamogga, Dr. Shanthanayaka Shiraganahalli of Ballari and Dr. Amruta Katake of Kalaburagi will be conferred with the honorary awards. Writer Dr. Jayadevi Gaikwad of Bidar will deliver the valedictory address at 6 pm.
