Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised two Bharatanatyam programmes today (Friday) at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar.
6 pm to 7.15 pm: Vidushi Srividya Shashidhar and troupe; 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm: Vidushi Vangmayi Prasad, Bengaluru.
Srividya Shashidhar has great passion for dance since her early age and her parents supported and made her to learn Bharatanatyam from Guru Vidushi Rashmi and Vidushi Geetha. She has done her Master’s in Bharatanatyam from Mysore University and doing her advanced learning under Guru Vidushi Chethana.
Vangmayi Prasad is a student of well-known Guru Vidushi Dr. Sowndarya. She has done her Vidwat in dance and graduation in Computer Engineering.
Flute recital tomorrow
Pt. Sudip Kumar Chattopadhyay, an eminent flutist from Kolkata, will perform on Jan. 28 at Veene Seshanna Bhavana at 5.30 pm under the auspices of Swara Sankula Sangeeta Sabha. Well-known tabla artiste Pt. Udayaraj Karpur will provide tabla support.
Pt. Sudip Chattopadhyay is considered to be one of the torch-bearers of Pandit Pannalal Gharana and is a top grade artiste of AIR and Dooradarshan.
Tabla solo by budding artiste Pradyumna Karpur is also a part of the programme. Lehra sath will be provided to him by Surya Upadhyay, an young and talented harmonium player.
