‘Dance for a cause’ delight underprivileged children

July 12, 2017

Mysuru: Students of Nrityagiri Performing Arts and Research Centre, run by Bharatanatyam exponent Kripa Phadke, presented a programme ‘Dance for a cause,’ at Chayadevi Orphanage near Ashokapuram here on Sunday to the delight of the children of the Orphanage.

The underprivileged children were mesmerised by the rhythmic dances with lilting music and possibly got an inspiration to emulate the steps.

Though art and dance are cultural images of society, the underprivileged people are deprived to relish the art and it was a welcome idea of Nrityagiri to bring the nuances of dance to the doorsteps of eh Orphanage. The children applauded the performance encouraging the  dancers to the core.
