Cops, Home Guards from other districts return with bagful of experience

Mysuru: After the successful conclusion of this year’s Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara, the Police Officers, personnel and Home Guards from other districts, who were deputed on security duty in the city, returned to their respective places of duty yesterday.

Over 3,000 among 6,000 strong contingent of Police deployed on security duty here were from outside the district. They left with the lingering memories of Dasara, in 61 KSRTC buses and over 10 Police buses, from City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police Unit near Chamundi Hill. Those in the cadre of officers returned in their official vehicles.

To ensure Dasara was an incident-free, the District Authorities concerned had made two-prong security arrangements. A total of 6,384 Civil and Traffic Policemen including officers, 35 KSRP platoons, 15 CAR and DAR platoons, 29 Army Service Corp teams, one Garuda Force and 1,200 Home Guards had been deputed on security duty. Besides, five SP rank Officers, 35 Dy.SPs and 140 in the rank of Police Inspector were in charge of bandobast duty.

Sharankumar, a probationary Policeman from Kalaburagi, who was on duty here, was happy to leave with a bagful of experience, with still two more months left for the completion of his foundation training.

Home Guard Lakshman, hailing from Holenarsipur in Hassan, was overwhelmed to discharge his Dasara duty for first time.

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar said, ‘bandobast arrangements were foolproof, with local Police working in tandem with their counterparts from other districts. The credit of successful Dasara should go to the team work of District Administration including all Departments.’
