Dasara Exhibition-2017: DC Randeep sets Sept. 20 deadline for completion of stalls

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, who inspected the Dasara Exhibition Grounds yesterday, instructed the officials to complete the construction of the stalls before Sept. 20.

He was speaking to the officials after visiting the Dasara Exhibition Grounds yesterday and took detailed information about various Departments, Boards and Corporations which have agreed to set up the stalls during the Dasara Exhibition.

Speaking to media persons, the DC said that a clear picture regarding the number of stalls to be set up by various departments would be known in a couple of days. He said the Kannada and Culture, Women and Child Welfare, Valmiki Development Corporation, Devaraja Urs Development Corporation have already begun their works on construction of their stalls and added that the Horticulture, Agriculture, Forest and others had been setting up their stalls on a regular basis.

The Deputy Commissioner  also said the Government has not made it mandatory for all ZPs to have their stalls to prevent the stalls being empty and added that those who were interested could set up their stalls. “Last year, we had 35 stalls. This year we are expecting 30-35 stalls. The Authority has also made it clear that those Departments which promise to open their stalls and later delay the same will not be entertained,” said the DC.

Karnataka Exhibition Authority CEO N.M. Shashikumar, Agriculture Joint Director Somashekar, Information and Public Relations Assistant Director R. Raju and others were present.
