Later, in his address, District Minister V. Somanna said that if he continued to be the District Minister till next Dasara, the suggestion of organising Mysuru Dasara International Film Festival would be considered positively and he would work towards organising the same.

Stating that, everyone possessed one or the other talent within them, Somanna said that platforms like these would help identifying such talents and to encourage them.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Dasara Film Festival Sub Committee Deputy Special Officer B.N. Girish said that the committee had received a over whelming response from the students across the State.

“With three national award winning technicians like P. Sheshadri, B. Suresh and B.S. Lingadevaru conducting the workshops, it was certain that the hall would be flooded with young and aspiring film makers,” he added.

Kavya, a Kannada literature student, from Davanagere University, said that opportunities like these would help students like them to explore different fields other than teaching and other professions.
