Mysore/Mysuru: The 14-day Dasara Aahara Mela or Food festival, which is intrinsic to the famed Mysuru Dasara, will feature about 140 stalls, selling a variety of food, dishes, cuisines and delicacies.
The Dasara Aahara Mela is scheduled to be held from Sept. 22 to Oct. 5 at the vast Maharaja’s College grounds.
There will be two separate lines for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food stalls. The venue will be illuminated and a water-proof pandal is erected to provide shelter to customers.
The event will also feature cultural programmes in the evenings on all days as in the past.
Dasara Aahara Mela Sub- Committee Working President Chandrashekar said that all the works related to the erection of 140 stalls will be completed ahead of the inauguration.
Stating that some food vendors who had booked the stalls earlier and found mention in the first list of applicants, have not paid the prescribed rent thus far, he said that those in the second list of applicants will be considered for allotment of the remaining stalls as per rules.
