Medallists Pranavi Urs and K.S. Shilpa to be special guests
Mysuru: Stage is set for the athletes from various parts of the State to display their talent at this year’s Dasara CM Cup starting from tomorrow (Oct. 11) till Oct. 14 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium and across various venues in city.
Addressing the media persons at Chamundi Vihar Stadium yesterday, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES) Joint Director Jeethendra Shetty said that Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will inaugurate Dasara Sports CM Cup at 4.30 pm at Chamundi Vihar Stadium.
“Asian Games-2026 gold medallist Pranavi Urs and Commonwealth Wealth Games (CWG)-2026 bronze medallist para-athlete K.S. Shilpa, who will be special guests, will be felicitated on the occasion,” he added.
DYES will be conducting competitions in 28 disciplines including karate, shooting among others. A total of 4,515 sportspersons and 700 technical officers and staff will take part.
Boarding and Lodging facilities
The Department and Dasara Sports Sub-Committee for the first time will provide boarding and lodging facilities at private hotels to sportspersons and technical staff.
While the lodging facilities are provided at private hotels, the food will be served at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry located on Shivarampet Main Road. Athletes and technical staff have also been provided with free transportation from their respective lodges, sports venues and choultry.

“We also ensured that the athletes and technical staff are provided with quality food on time to athletes during the event. Athletes have also covered with insurance in case of any injuries. Medical assistance and ambulance facilities are also provided at all venues in case of an emergency. More than 30 physiotherapists have been roped in to help athletes in injury management and recovery. Measures are also being initiated to ensure to maintain cleanliness and provide all necessary facilities at sports venues and lodging facilities,” said Shetty.
Helpline and Web Portal
DYES has also launched web portal and helpline for the benefit of the athletes. The website will provide information about the venues, timings, reporting time, time table of sports events among others.
The website will also make easy for athletes to complete their registration and procure identity cards.
The organisers have also introduced mobile helpline numbers 99865-77211 and 99865-77411 for the athletes. Participants can also visit www.dasaracmcup.in for information regarding boarding, lodging, food, transportation and sports events. They can also contact respective in-charge officials to resolve any issues. Athletes will also receive information regarding their reporting time and time table of events through messages on their mobile phones.
Strict action against doping
Shetty also informed that strict against would be initiated against athletes involved in doping. “DYES will be conducting the competitions with utmost care and transparency. The use of banned drugs has been strictly prohibited. We will also create awareness among the athletes regarding the use of banned drugs,” he said. “Athletes will be subjected to random doping test and services of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has been sought to conduct doping tests to all athletes,” he added.
