Daylight house burglary in city

Mysore/Mysuru: In a daylight robbery reported from the city, burglars, who broke open into a house in Vasanthnagar coming under Alanahalli Police Station limits yesterday, have burgled cash and valuables, totally worth about Rs. 3.5 lakh.

Dakshinamurthy, a College lecturer at Udayagiri and a resident of Vasanthnagar, located behind Vidya Vikas Educational Institutions on Bannur Road, had gone to Chamundi Hill along with his family members at 11 am yesterday after locking the house. He returned home at about 4 pm, when to his shock, found the front door open. Upon entering the house, he discovered that burglars had decamped with Rs. 20,000 cash, 65 gms of gold jewellery and 200 gms of silver jewellery, totally worth about Rs. 3.5 lakh, kept in an almirah.

Dakshinamurthy then lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional Alanahalli Police. Police Inspector G.N. Srikanth and staff rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar.
