DC lauds private companies for CSR initiatives

Mysuru:  Lot of significant works have been taken up under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the District, said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep.

He was addressing the media after chairing a meeting of the heads of private companies regarding CSR schemes at his office here yesterday and said Infosys, Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Limited, J.K.Tyres, Automotive Axles, Triveni Engineering, L&T, Mysore Paints and Varnish have all spent about Rs.4418.09 lakh in the year 2016-17 for various development projects. Similarly in 2017-18 Rs. 108.25 lakh and in 2018-19 Mitsubushi Heavy Industries, ITC Limited Agri Business, United Breweries Limited and Lewis Dreyes Company Limited have together prepared a combined action plan worth Rs. 1231.91 lakh, he said.

As private companies are joining hands with government, it has been possible to implement many development programmes than anticipated, he said.
