DC makes surprise visit to Hunsur, Periyapatna taluks; reviews COVID situation

Hunsur/ Periyapatna: First time after assuming office, DC Dr. Bagadi Gautham paid a surprise visit to various COVID Care Centres (CCCs) and Taluk General Hospitals in Hunsur and Periyapatna taluks yesterday and reviewed its functioning.

In Hunsur, he said that the Taluk Administration has been able to control Corona thanks to preventive measures and wanted it to continue the same way in future too. All Legislators and officers were striving to bring down Corona cases in their respective constituencies. Lockdown has been extended up to June 21 with 4 hours relaxation from 6 am to 10 am to buy essentials. Every citizen must follow guidelines for safety of all, he added.

MLA H.P. Manjunath wanted immediate appointment of Nurses and also the supply of medical equipment to Taluk Hospital. Local Cops must take action on those who move on streets after 10 am without any reasons.

Superintendent of Police (SP) R. Chethan, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Veena, Tahsildar Basavaraj, Executive Officer (EO) Girish, Taluk Health Officer (THO) Dr. Keerthikumar, Hospital Administrative Officer Dr. Sarvesh Raj Urs, Dr. Umesh and others were present.

Periyapatna visit

In Periyapatna, the DC made a surprise visit to Taluk Hospital and collected information from Hospital Medical Officer Srinivas and Taluk Administrative Officer Dr. Sharath, regarding the line of treatment for Corona patients. 

Later, he visited Chenna Kallukaval Primary Health Centre and spoke to ASHA and Anganwadi workers. Upon informing him about the shortage of four lab technicians at Taluk Hospital, the DC promised to attend it on priority. He directed local Medical Officer to increase RT-PCR testing.

Dr. Gautham said that he had collected information regarding requirements for Taluk Hospital and it will be provided at the earliest.

MLA K. Mahadev, ZP CEO A.M. Yogesh, ADC Dr. B.S. Manjunathswamy, Tahsildar Chandramouli and EO Krishnakumar were present.
