Mysuru: A First Division Assistant (FDA) working in the DC’s office here, was allegedly assaulted by a Cop at the Torchlight Parade Ground here on Aug. 15. The FDA, who was assaulted, has been identified as Shanmugam.

It is said that Shanmugam was performing his duty during the Independence Day celebrations at the Torchlight Parade Ground in Bannimantap, when a Constable allegedly picked up a quarrel and assaulted him beside abusing him using foul language.

Shanmugam, who has complained to the DC, has also lodged a complaint at  N.R. Police Station.
