DC Randeep to hold meeting of parties ahead of polls

February 15, 2018

Mysuru: DC D. Randeep, who is also the District Election Officer, said that at least three teams will be deputed to each Assembly segment to ensure that the model code of conduct would be followed.

He said that over six teams would be deployed at “Expensive Sensitive Constituencies” (ESCs) in the district. The Election Commission is yet to release the list of ESCs in the district, he said.

After holding a meeting of Nodal Officers yesterday, Randeep said that he would convene a meeting of all parties after the calendar of events is out and inform them about the DOs and DON’Ts.

He said that over 25,000 employees from different Departments would be taken for election duty this year. He said that he would direct all election personnel to exercise their franchise compulsorily this time. A helpline has already been set up in all taluk head quarters to receive complaints from public and also from the political parties, he said.
