DCP warns against selling of sub-standard helmets

August 24, 2017

Mysuru: DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe has asked the Police personnel to gather information of manufacturers and sellers of sub-standard helmets.

Speaking to SOM, Dr. Vikram Amathe said that the Traffic Police, who launched a drive across the city against the sale of sub-standard helmets on Aug.21, have seized 307 helmets. Stating that road-side helmet sellers were questioned on their suppliers, the DCP said that action will be taken against the manufacturers of sub-standard helmets.

Pointing out that wearing of sub-standard helmets will not serve the purpose, the DCP appealed the two-wheeler riders to buy only ISI mark helmets to ensure their road safety.
