Death of new-born baby: Cheluvamba Hospital RMO denies charges

May 28, 2017

Mysuru: Cheluvamba Hospital authorities have denied charges of negligence, made by the parents of a new-born child, which died within hours after it was born in the hospital on Tuesday.

The parents of the child, who were from Nanjangud taluk, had staged a demonstration in the hospital premises, accusing the doctors of negligence.

Speaking to SOM yesterday on reports of the death of the infant which appeared in a section of the press, Cheluvamba Hospital Superintendent Dr. V. Manjunath said that the infant may have died due to abdominal infection.

However, the Hospital authorities are looking into the exact cause of the infant’s death, he said while ruling out the parent’s allegations that their child died due to medical negligence.
