Death of dialysis patient creates panic in K.R. Nagar

June 25, 2019

K.R. Nagar:  The death of a dialysis patient yesterday caused panic among 35 other patients undergoing dialysis at the Taluk Medical Hospital here this morning.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Taluk Medical Officer Dr. Shivaprasad said that the patient was undergoing dialysis for years and his death yesterday was due to natural causes.

Maintaining that there was no concern, he said that the death of the patient had given rise to unnecessary rumours and the patients need not panic as dialysis is going on under constant monitoring of doctors.

The rumours about dialysis patients getting affected with Hepatitis ‘C’ is totally baseless, he added.
