Deer killed in bike accident

Periyapatna: A deer was killed as a motorbike rammed into it near Mutthurayana Swamy Temple on Gonikoppa-Periyapatna Main Road in Anechowkur Forest in the taluk.

It is reported that one Kailash, a resident of Halli Mysuru was on his way towards Periyapatna on Gonikoppa road, when he rammed his bike into the deer which came on the road near Mutthurayana Swamy Temple, injuring it seriously besides himself sustaining injuries.

Motorists and passersby, who were travelling on this route, stopped their vehicles and tried to revive the deer by providing it with water but in vain.

Meanwhile, P. Girish and A.Y. Rafiq, Rasheed of Kodagu’s Manava Hakku Jagruthi Samithi got Kailash admitted to Periyapatna Hospital and informed the matter to the Police, who have registered a case.

The Forest Dept. have taken the body of the deer into their possession.
