August 3, 2025

Mysuru; The Mysuru City Traffic Police, who conducted special drives for two days across the city have seized a total of 166 two-wheelers with defective registration number plates.

During the special drives, the Police came to know that the riders in a bid to avoid being penalised for traffic offences were tying lemons, pasting stickers,  sticking magnets and bending the number plates to make sure that the AI cameras could not detect the full registration numbers.

The Cops are also verifying whether such two-wheelers were being used to commit various crimes.

The special drives will continue in city and the City Traffic Police are ready to tackle traffic offenders. During the display of seized two-wheelers at Maharaja’s College Grounds on Saturday, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) M. Speaking to media persons, ACP Shivashankar said that during the special drives conducted on Friday and Saturday at all Traffic Police Station limits in city, a total of 166 two-wheelers with defective number plates have been seized.
