Delegates awed by architecture of Somanathapura Chennakeshava Temple

August 3, 2023

The Think20 Summit delegates visited the famed Chennakeshava Temple at Somanathapura in T. Narasipur Taluk this morning. The Union Ministry of Culture has nominated Sacred Ensembles of this magnificent Hoysala Temple for consideration as a World Heritage site for the year 2022-2023. The delegates went around the magnificent monument and visited the interiors of the breathtakingly beautiful Trikuta Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna in three forms — Janardhana, Keshava and Venugopala. While the main Keshava idol is missing, the Janardhana and Venugopala idols are damaged.
