December 16, 2021

Hunsur: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police have trapped the Principal of Hunsur ITI College while accepting bribe from a Junior Training Officer (JTO) to sign the transfer charge list (provisional list).

The Principal, who was caught red handed while accepting the bribe is Srikantaradhya, who has been remanded to judicial custody.

Details: Hunsur ITI College JTO Nagaraj was transferred to Mysuru and he was to hand over the charge to another JTO Rakesh Kumar of the Mechanical Branch. As the charge list of Nagaraj required the signature of the Principal, he went to Principal Srikantaradhya for the signature where he (Principal) demanded a bribe of Rs. 50,000 to sign.

On Dec. 9, Srikantaradhya met JTO Nagaraj near Ramakrishna Circle in Mysuru and after negotiations, the bribe amount was fixed to Rs. 25,000. In a bid to teach the bribe-hungry Principal a lesson, Nagaraj is said to have given Rs. 5,000 then and told the Principal that he would give the remaining amount on Dec. 14. In the meantime, Nagaraj lodged a complaint with ACB Police, who registered a case and decided to trap the Principal red handed.

On Dec. 14, Nagaraj informed the Principal to come to Ramakrishna Circle in Mysuru to collect money. Srikantaradhya came to the spot accordingly and when Nagaraj was handing over the money, the ACB Police team led by Dy.SP Dharmendra, who were nearby swooped on the Principal, caught him red handed with the cash and arrested him.

ACB Inspectors Mohan Krishna and Chittaranjan and staff Gururao, Manjunath, Yogesh, Chethan and Pushpa took part in the operation.
