Mysuru: The Maratha Kranti Morcha will take out a massive rally in city on Oct.30, to press for inclusion of Maratha Community, which is socially economically, culturally, academically and politically backward, in the Category 2A list.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Wednesday, Morcha President Keshav Rao Jadhav said that the Backward Classes Commission has recommended inclusion of Maratha Community in category 2A list. But the Government is delaying the process. The rally has been organised in order to draw the attention of the Government is this regard, he said and added that more than 10,000 members of the community from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu districts will take part in the rally which commences at 10 am from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple.
Continuing, he said that the other demands include Linguistic Minority status to Marathi language, declaration of Chhatrapati Shahaji Raje Bhosle Memorial at Hodigere in Channagiri taluk of Davanagere district as a National Memorial and establishment of Maratha Vikasa Mahamandali, among others.
