Mysuru: The five-day dental check-up camp for jail inmates, organised by District Health and Family Welfare Department and Mysuru Central Prison, was inaugurated by District Dental Medical Division Nodal Officer Dr. S. Anitha here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, she said “We chew food before swallowing it; hence it is very important to keep the teeth healthy, failing which other parts of the body may fall sick. One should brush teeth once in the morning and once in the evening to avoid any problems with their teeth.”
The team comprising 10 dentists will conduct dental check-up for 800 inmates till Oct. 25 and if any inmate is found to have serious dental issues, the inmate will be treated in the Dental Wing of K.R. Hospital or the District Hospital. Chief Superintendent of Mysuru Jail P.S. Ramesh, Dr. Samiulla Shariff, Dr. Raghavendra, Dr. Kiran and Dr. Santosh were present.
