July 3, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: A few youths, who followed a Dental College student in their car, waylaid him in the middle of a road and have allegedly assaulted him with an iron road. A case has been registered at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station in this regard.

The student, who was assaulted, is J. Druvanarayan and the Police, based on the complaint from Druvanarayan’s brother J. Suraj, have registered a case against Pavan, Rakshit and another person. In his complaint, Suraj has stated that his brother called him over the phone on the night of June 27 and asked him to come to Kalidasa Road. When he went to the spot, he came to know that a group of 4-5 youths has assaulted him and with the help of his friend, took his brother, who was lying in a pool of blood, and admitted him to a hospital.

Suraj has further stated that he came to know the names of two assaulters as Pavan and Rakshit from his brother and there was a girl in the group. Suraj has urged in the complaint to initiate legal action against those who had abused his brother using foul language and assaulted with an iron rod.

Police said that Druvanarayan had stopped his bike as there was high traffic density on Mysuru-Hunsur Road in Vijayanagar. Meanwhile, Pavan and Rakshit, who came in a car with a girl, threatened Druvanarayan to make way for them. As there were too many vehicles, Druvanarayan was unable to make way for them and asked them to wait a bit. Irked over this, Pavan and Rakshit abused Druvanarayan using foul language and tried to assault him. But Druvanarayan somehow escaped and moved further. Later, the accused waylaid Druvanarayan on Kalidasa Road and assaulted him with an iron road causing injuries to his head, Police added.
