Mysore/Mysuru: Chamundeshwari Constituency’s JD(S) MLA G.T. Devegowda (GTD) has welcomed the recent notification of Urban Development (UD) Department to issue khata for the properties under 3A, that were hitherto not considered for availing the benefit, after the upgradation of Gram Panchayats (GPs) as Town Panchayats (TPs) and City Municipal Councils (CMCs) in the State. With this, a whopping 53,853 such properties from 103 layouts coming under various Local Bodies in Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency in Mysuru district will also be benefited, he said.
Addressing media persons in the city on Friday, GTD appealed to such property holders to wait till Feb. 1 to avail the benefit, as it requires 20 days to facilitate the said procedures through E-AASTHI software. With the issuing of the khata, such property holders can avail bank loan, licence and plan approval for construction works.
Claiming that he had raised the issue in the Legislative Assembly by bringing the discrepancies to the notice of the Government, GTD said, “Following this, the Government had formed a Cabinet Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of Urban Development Minister Byrati Basavaraj, which also had Municipal Administration Minister MTB Nagaraj, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J.C. Madhuswamy, Social Welfare Minister Kota Srinivas Poojari, Secretary to Urban Development Department Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan and Director of Municipal Administration K.C. Manjushree.”
The Sub-Committee went into the loopholes and rectified the discrepancies, following which the Urban Development Department issued a notification on Jan. 2, 2023 to issue khata under Form-3 after classifying the properties as legal and illegal. It will benefit the properties coming under 61 City Municipal Councils, 124 Town Municipal Councils and 114 Town Panchayats in the State.
In Chamundeshwari Constituency alone, there are 53,853 such properties including 17,879 from 25 layouts in Hootagalli CMC, 16,026 properties from 22 layouts in Bogadi Town Panchayat, 6,868 properties from 17 layouts in Srirampura Town Panchayat, 6,660 properties from 19 layouts in Rammanahalli TP and 6,420 properties in 20 layouts coming under Kadakola TP.
Earlier, the GPs were issuing the khatas under legally valid and invalid properties as 9 & 11A khata and 9 & 11B khata classification respectively.
