Deplorable condition of KRS Road

October 25, 2019

Sir,

It is shocking to see the deplorable condition of KRS Road.  Some stretch of the road  is bad and some stretch very bad.

I am unable to fathom the irresponsible and lethargic attitude of the engineers and the officers concerned in letting one of the most travelled road of Mysuru like this, especially during Dasara time.

The tourists will never forget the bumpy, back-breaking ride they experience on KRS road. At least before Dasara the authorities could have provided some temporary road filling to offer a better drive for the tourists travelling from Mysuru to  Brindavan Gardens.

The main curse in execution of public works at the cost of tax-payers money is the lack of ‘accountability’. Since there is no accountability, completion of projects prolong. Having received their loot, the authorities concerned do not insist on quality works or timely completion of the projects. Most of the projects go beyond the deadline and the contractors in connivance with the bureaucrats  demand for escalation costs for the delayed projects.

Every contractor has to shell down a “cut” and because of this ‘cut’ culture,  quality and timely execution of the work suffers.
