Dereliction in COVID duty: DC issues notices to 22 PDOs

Chamarajanagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. M.R. Ravi, seeking explanation for dereliction in performing COVID duty and showing negligent attitude, has issued notices to 22 Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs).

Following increase in COVID-19 positive cases, an order was passed appointing PDOs to trace the primary and secondary contacts of COVID -19 positive patients in the stipulated time. But the Nodal Officer of the Contact Tracing team had submitted a report in which the PDOs had mentioned ‘Nil Contact.’

Taking the matter seriously, DC Dr. Ravi, considering it to be negligent attitude and dereliction in duty has issued notices to Kodlur Gram Panchayat (GP) PDO B. Mahadevaiah, Chandakawadi PDO M. Siddaraju, Kempanapura PDO K.N. Ramegowda, Baagali PDO Shivakumar, Ummathur PDO D. Bhagyalakshmi, Kuderu PDO M.S. Chandru, Saagade PDO K.N. Somashekar, Doddinduwadi PDO K.G. Dayanand, Male Mahadeshwara Hill PDO K. Rajkumar, Rampura PDO V. Mahadevaswamy, Kannur PDO B. Nagaraju, Gumballi PDO Basavanna, Gowdalli PDO Shivakumar, Yaragamballi PDO B. Adishesha Murthy, Honnur PDO K.P. Sunitha, Agatagowdanahalli PDO S. Mahadevappa, Balachawadi PDO K. Somashekar, Baragi PDO H.R. Mohan Kumar, Berambadi PDO D. Sheela, Hangala PDO Kumaraswamy, Kelasur PDO R. Ravi and Kabballi PDO C.S. Usharani.

The DC has asked the above PDOs to provide explanation within 24 hours of receiving the notice failing which  stringent action would be taken against them.
