Dereliction of duty: Chamarajanagar DC relieves CMC Commissioner from duty

Chamarajanagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Charulatha Somal has relieved Chamarajanagar City Municipal Council (CMC) Commissioner Karibasavaiah from duty of charges of dereliction in performing his duties and has given the additional charge to CMC Assistant Executive Engineer C.M. Nataraj.

According to the order issued by the DC, Karibasavaiah was instructed to take up development works of the Court Road in the CMC limits for which he was told to acquire land from land and building owners immediately. But Karibasavaiah did not any interest to take up the works and despite the District Court giving instructions to complete the road development works at the earliest, Karibasavaiah had not taken the matter seriously.

Also, Karibasavaiah had not replied to several notices and had displayed negligent attitude following which the DC in the interest of public has relieved him from the post of CMC Commissioner.
