Design SAFE Colloquium and Best M. Tech Theses Award ceremony on Nov. 23

Mysuru: The Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Mysore Centre and The Department of Civil Engineering, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysuru (under TEQIP – III initiative) are jointly organising a one-day colloquium Design SAFE-2019 on ‘Steel – Concrete Composite Structures’ on Nov.23 at CS/IS Seminar Hall, Golden Jubilee Bhavan, SJCE.

M.Tech. students of Structural Engineering and Construction Technology from six engineering colleges in Mysuru, Mandya and Hassan regions will be attending the event.

 Dr. T.N. Nagabhushana, Principal, SJCE, will inaugurate the programme at 10.15 am tomorrow. Dr. K. Prakash, Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, will preside. Dr. B. Manoj Kumar, Nodal officer, TEQIP III, SJCE, Er. S. Prakash, Chairman, Er. M.S. Ramprasad, Hon. Secretary, Dr. Y.M. Manjunath, Hon. Treasurer, office-bearers and members of ACCE(I) Mysore Centre and Faculty members from various engineering colleges will be present.

Two eminent structural consultants Er. Gururaj Thaali, Chief Managing Director, Innotech Engineering Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru and Dr.  S. Sreenath, Engineering Manager (Civil), Larsen and Toubro Ltd., Chennai, will make presentations on ‘Steel-Concrete composite structures’ in the colloquium.

The technical presentations will be followed by Best M. Tech Theses Award Programme where three best thesis submitted by M.Tech. students of structural engineering from six engineering colleges in Mysuru, Mandya and Hassan regions during the academic year 2018-19 will be presented with awards. 

Dr. K.S. Lokesh, Registrar, JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru, will be the chief guest. Er. S. Prakash, Chairman, ACCE(I) Mysore Centre, will preside. 

A technical quiz on structural engineering is also organised for the participating M.Tech students. About 140 M.Tech. students from JSS Science and Technology University, The National Institute of Engineering, Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering, and VTU Regional Centre of Mysuru, PES College of Engineering, Mandya and MCE College of Engineering, Hassan will participate in the programme.
