SJCE students stage protest, oppose offline exams

January 9, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Students of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) staged a protest on Thursday urging the authorities concerned to conduct online exams.

Over 200 students who had gathered in front of SJCEentrance gate held protest and demanded that exams should be conducted through online mode.

“This year, we attended online classes due to Corona pandemic. But online learning hasn’t been as effective as offline classes.

While very few students have been able to follow the lessons and understand them, many of us haven’t been able to do so due to online mode of teaching. Hence we don’t want offline exams and request them to conduct exams online,” they demanded and submitted a memorandum in this regard to the College Principal.

It may be recalled, the students of National Institute of Engineering (NIE) too staged a snap strike on Jan. 5 demanding postponement of Semester End Examination (SEE) in the wake of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
