Pratibha Puraskar for Uppara community students tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The District Uppara Employees and Professionals Association has organised a Pratibha Puraskar programme for meritorious students of the community at Kalamandira here on Jan.10 (Sunday).

Announcing this at a press meet here on Thursday, Association Hon. Advisor Dr.K. Somashekar said that University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof.G. Hemantha Kumar will inaugurate the programme at 10.30 am on Jan.10. 

Apart from PratibhaPuraskar, which is the 25th one, the programme will feature felicitation to promoted employees, retired employees, achievers and social workers of Uppara community, he said and added that calendar release, homage to dignitaries and prize distribution too will be part of the programme. 

He further said that 9 personalities including Bengaluru based D.Y. Uppar Educational and Social Foundation President Sharan D.Bandi will be conferred ‘BhageerathaVidyashri’ award, while two other personalities will be conferred ‘BhageerathaSuvarnaVidyashri’ award and three folk scholars will be conferred ‘BhageerathaJanapadaRathna’ award.

Continuing, Dr.Somashekar said that HosadurgaBhageeratha Mutt Seer Dr.PurushottamanandaSwamiji and AyyanaSaragur Mutt Seer Chinnaswamiji will grace the occasion, while Association President R. Somashekar will preside. Chamarajanagar MLA C. Puttarangashetty will unveil a portrait of BhageerathaMaharshi, he added.

Association  President R. Somashekar,  Vice-President Mahadeva Shetty and Advisor  Dr.K. Ajay Kumar were present at the press meet.
