Devaraja Police arrest chain-snatcher: Recover Rs.2 lakh worth gold chain

Mysuru:  Devaraja Police have arrested a 23-year-old youth on charges of snatching gold chain and have recovered a 60 grams gold chain worth Rs.2 lakh from him.

The accused is Harish, a resident of Hemmige village in Hunsur taluk. He was arrested when he was attempting to sell the stolen gold chain at a jewellery shop on Ashoka Road.

Accused Harish, on Nov.29, had snatched the gold chain of Lakshmi, a teacher, near Metropole Circle and had fled from the spot.

Devaraja Police, who had registered a case, arrested Harish, who has been remanded to judicial custody, according to Inspector Prasanna Kumar.
