Mysore/Mysuru: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) pensioners visit PF Offices every year in the months of Nov.-Dec. to submit their Life Certificate to continue to draw their pension without break.
In the present scenario of COVID-19 pandemic, the EPFO desires that all the pensioners should stay safe and stay at home. Therefore, EPFO has partnered with Common Service Centre (CSC) to provide facility to submit Digital Jeevan Pramaan.
A multi-agency model adopted by EPFO empowers EPS pensioners with choice and autonomy to select the service delivery agency as per their convenience.
EPS pensioners are requested to avoid visiting PF Offices and instead submit Aadhaar-based Biometric Digital Life Certificate (DLC) or Jeevan Pramaan at Banks, nearest Post Offices or at Common Service Centres or Mee Seva Centres or by using Doorstep Banking Services by PSB. Pensioners need to carry their Mobile, Bank Pass Book, Pension Payment Order Number and Aadhaar number.
They can also avail this service by contacting their local Postman or nearest Post Office or can submit online, through UMANG app by attaching a Finger Print Scanner to their mobiles.
In this regard, a key policy change has been brought in by EPFO to allow EPS pensioners to submit Digital Jeevan Pramaan at any time during the year as per their convenience and not just during the months of Nov.- Dec. The Life Certificate will remain valid for one year from the date of submission.
For example, the Digital Life Certificate submitted in Nov.-Dec. 2019 is valid for release of monthly pension for one year, that is up to Nov.-Dec. 2020, respectively. Pensioners who have submitted Digital Life Certificate after Jan. 2020 need not submit till one year is over. Pensioners who have been issued PPOs in 2020 can submit Digital Life Certificate after one year. This pro-pensioner step has been taken to provide hassle-free social security cover to EPS pensioners, according to a press release from PF Regional Office, Gayathripuram [Ph:0821-2599200/222]
