Mysuru: District Minister V. Somanna has assured that steps would be taken to appoint Director for Mysuru Rangayana soon.

He was replying to a question posed by press persons here on Dec.24 as to why the Director is not yet appointed for Rangayana especially when the popular Bahuroopi Theatre Festival would commence in a couple of days.

Somanna said that steps would be taken to ensure that regular theatre programmes would be continued in city.

He assured that he would contact the concerned Minister C.T. Ravi and discuss on the appointment of Rangayana Director and added that everything would be sorted out in two days.

When reporters questioned as to why the new buildings to house the offices of Deputy Commissioner and City Police Commissioner have not been occupied despite the buildings being ready an year ago, Somanna said that he has discussed on that matter with the DC and the City Police Commissioner. 

He further said that the DC had told him that a few small works were pending in the new building, on completion of which the new building would be occupied. 

He added that he would discuss with DGP regarding shifting the office of the Police Commissioner to the new building.

The Minister also disclosed that the reservation category of Mayor is yet to be announced which will also be made known soon.
