Workshop on Life Skills held

Mysuru: A one-day workshop on Life Skills, jointly organised by city based ‘WE Shwasa,’ Bengaluru-based Nimhans and city-based Yuva Spandana Kendra, was held recently in city.

Swathi Shahani, Co-ordinator of the Life Skills programme, Nimhans Hospital, Bengaluru, inaugurated the programme by watering a plant. 

Speaking on the occasion, she said that youths were destroying their lives by getting addicted to various bad habits due to immense stress. She called upon the participants to develop mental concentration and not be influenced by stress.

Dr. Manjuladevi, Professor at Kanakapura Govt. First Grade College, who was the resource person, said that the present day syllabus was pro-curricular and she felt that proper representation should be given for extra curricular activities. She advised students to get training at the Spandana Youth Centres.

Puttaraju, Trainer of Life Skills at Kodagu District Youth Centre, said that the Department of Youth Empowerment was organising various programmes for youths and the youths should make use of it. 

Alur Murthy, Organic Agriculturist and Founder of ‘WE Shwasa,’ who presided over the function, regretted that people were not eating organic foods. He advised the participants to use ‘Siri Dhanyas’ in their everyday life to keep up their good health. 

Resource person and lecturer Rajendraprasad Honnalagere, S.S. Balappa, Shankarprasad Jain and others were present.
