Mysore/Mysuru: A gang of two claiming to be Policemen has robbed a woman of her mangalya gold chain weighing 65 grams at New Kantharaj Urs Road near K.G. Koppal in city on Jan. 1. Jayamma, a home-maker and a resident of K.G. Koppal, is the victim, who was relieved of the valuable during broad daylight on that day.
According to Jayamma, she was on foot at around 10.30 am, when a stranger stopped her saying the Police were calling her. After Jayamma went near another stranger who claimed to be a Police, the latter told about a murder reported nearby and the miscreants on a robbery spree making away with the valuables.
He warned Jayamma to be cautious and asked her to remove the chain she was wearing, promising to wrap it in a cover for safety. Meanwhile, another passerby was also called by the strangers duo, who asked him to remove the valuable and separately packed the valuables of the both.
On returning home, shock was in store for Jayamma who found imitating chain upon opening the cover packed by the strangers.
Saraswathipuram Police are investigating the case.
