November 27, 2024

Mysuru: The officials of the Department of Food Safety & Quality Assurance have begun distribution of licence to roadside vendors selling fruits and vegetables in city.

The licence is being distributed free of cost after collecting details of Aadhaar card and other documents of the vendors.

The licence has been provided to fruits and vegetable vendors on M.G. Road who had given the details and process is underway to provide the licence to other vendors there.

Yesterday, the process of providing licence began at Hebbal Market and within a week, licence will be provided to every vendor here, said Food Safety & Quality Assurance Designated Officer Dr. S.L. Ravindra.

Dr. Ravindra said that roadside vendors, numbering over 300, on Sayyaji Rao Road and near K.R. Hospital are not showing any interest to obtain the licence despite convincing them and added that in a few days, the process of providing licence to all roadside vendors in city will be completed.
