District Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee holds meeting

Mysuru: The District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee meeting, chaired by MP R. Dhruvanarayan, was held this morning at ZP auditorium here.

Briefing the meeting, officials of Social Welfare Department said that 37 Morarji Desai Schools have been sanctioned for the district. Dhruvanarayan asked the officials to identify the places to set up one such school in every hobli.

Participating in the meeting, DC D. Randeep assured that the places would be identified for schools in two to three months. Dhuruvanarayan citing the example of H.D. Kote said that Ekalavya and Morarji Schools were being run in the same School inconveniencing the students.

Raising a point, MP Pratap Simha said that he has been receiving complaints that the beneficiaries of Hakki Pikki tribe were not being allowed to stay in lands allotted to them in Pakshirajapura in the district and asked officials concerned to  follow up such cases.

ZP President Nayeema Sultana briefed the meeting that 364 drinking water units were due to be installed in the district. Dhruvanarayan asked her to expedite the project.

Raising another point, Pratap Simha said that complaints were received regarding opening up of road dividers on NH-212 (Nanjangud Road) between JSS College junction and APMC yard in Bandipalya to facilitate a few petrol bunks and shops causing inconvenience to motorists. He asked National Highway authorities to inspect and address the problems soon.
