Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mysuru and Mysore Bar Association jointly took out a jatha (rally) in city this morning, to create awareness on preventing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Principal District and Sessions Court Judge Ramachandra D. Huddar, who is also the Chairman of DLSA, flagged off the jatha by waving the green flag at the Law Courts premises on K.R. Boulevard in the city. He also took part in the jatha on Vani Vilas Road.

Superintendent of Police C.B. Ryshyanth, Mysore Bar Association President S. Anand Kumar, Secretary B. Shivanna, advocates and members of various voluntary organisations were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Judge said that six teams are visiting various places in city to create awareness among people on the usefulness of wearing face masks, hand sanitiser and maintaining social distance. This kind of programme was required in the wake of spurt in Corona positive cases in city and district, he added.

As per directions of Karnataka High Court, all the Courts were functioning with full capacity from Monday last. Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) has been made mandatory for advocates and litigants in all Courts. They have to show the negative report before entering Court Hall, he said and added that positive cases were sent to quarantine.

On this occasion, general public were distributed with face masks given by the Health Department and voluntary organisations.
