Mysuru: The two-day District-level Sports Meet of State Government employees and cultural competitions will take place at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad on Apr. 5 and 6.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Tuesday, the Employees Association District President Dr. C.B. Arun Kumar said that District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will unfurl the flag at 10 am on Apr.5 to inaugurate the meet. MLA Tanveer  Sait will preside. Minister K. Venkatesh, MPs Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and Sunil Bose, MLA Anil Chikkamadu and others will be the chief guests.

Stating that the meet features more than 20 sporting events and  cultural competitions, Arun Kumar  said that there will be no registration fee. The valedictory will take place at 4.30 pm on Apr.6, during which Minister Dr. Mahadevappa will distribute prizes to the winners, he added.

He further said that the Association has invited online entries  from the District Government servants for the prestigious ‘Sarvothama Seva’ Award. The last date to apply is Apr.16.
