Mysuru: District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah flagged off eight new ambulances for service at the DHO office premises in Nazarbad on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Yathindra said that the new ambulances are in addition to the existing fleet.

Pointing out that providing quality and timely medical care to accident or other mishap victims is a priority of the Government, he said that the extension of the service is aimed at shifting the critically injured to hospitals within the Golden Hour, so that the precious lives of victims can be saved. “These ambulances are fitted with GPS and advanced life-saving medical equipment for preliminary treatment of victims. The ambulances will be deployed at necessary places across the district so that accident victims or patients in rural parts can be immediately shifted to hospitals without any delay,” he noted and added that the new ambulances come under the ambit of Central Command and Control Centre.

MLA D. Ravishankar, former MLA H.P. Manjunath, Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy and other officials were present.
