Mysore/Mysuru: District In-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar inaugurated the Yoga Charana event organised jointly by the  Dasara Yoga Sub-Committee, Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samiti, GSS Yoga Training Centre, Yoga Federation and other Yoga Schools and Training centres atop Chamundi Hill this morning.

About 300 Yoga enthusiasts, who reached the hill top by climbing the steps, performed various Yoga Asanas in front of Sri Chamundeshwari Temple.  Breakfast was provided for the participants.

Speaking on the occasion Minister Somashekar said that the cultural, sports and entertainment programmes held in connection with Mysuru Dasara will come to an end today. “All the programmes and events were held successfully and I thank everybody for their cooperation. The Chief Minister is coming tomorrow to city. Jumboo Savari will be held on Wednesday and lakhs of people are expected to throng Mysuru on that day. The District Administration has made elaborate security arrangements in this connection,” the Minister said and asked the people to participate in the festivities in large numbers.

Safai Karmachari Commission Chairman M. Shivanna, Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Mirle Srinivas Gowda, Zoo Authority Chairman Shivakumar, former MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev, AYUSH officials and others were present.
