Mysore/Mysuru: Robotic Natural Knee Replacement (NKR) with Oxidised Zirconium Implant, a cutting-edge technology designed to redefine knee replacement procedures was launched by District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa at Avant BKG Hospital, Ring Road, Bogadi Circle in city recently.
Unlike traditional knee replacement surgeries that reconstruct knees in a standard ‘Pillar’ shape, NKR allows surgeons to precisely recreate the patient’s original young knee. One of the unique features of this technology is its applicability to a younger demographic. While knee replacement surgeries are commonly associated with individuals above 60, Avant BKG Hospital recognises the need to address knee problems in younger patients who have exhausted conservative treatment options as partial knee replacement. NKR technology proves to be advantageous for these individuals, offering a solution that preserves bone, ligament and muscle.
Some of the benefits of NKR are: No extra bone loss, small incision, no soft tissue damages, no ligament injury, minimal blood loss, reduced pain, same day walking and stair climbing and early discharge from the hospital among others.
“Avant BKG Hospital is committed to pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge medical innovation, and the introduction of the Robotic Natural Knee Replacement Surgery is a testament to our dedication to providing the best possible care for our patients,” said Dr. T.N. Balakrishna Gowda (BKG), Managing Director of Avant BKG Hospitals, Mysuru.
Mysuru DHO Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy, Mandya DHO Dr. K. Mohan and others were present. For details, call: 98802-33054.
