January 8, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that it has become inevitable for the State Government to take some tight measures for checking the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, District Minister S.T. Somashekar has appealed the public for joining hands with the Government to eradicate the pandemic.

In a press release issued on Friday in the wake of weekend curfew, Somashekar said that the District Administration has been instructed to take all necessary measures for COVID control.

Pointing out that a night curfew is already in place, the Minister sought full public co-operation for making the weekend curfew a success as a measure to contain the spread of the virus.

Noting that only essential and emergency services have been allowed during the weekend curfew, Somashekar said the Police have set up check-posts for strict enforcement of the curfew.

Appealing the people not to unnecessarily venture out of their homes, he said that the public must co-operate with the Police Department during weekend curfew.

Referring to vaccine coverage in the district, Somashekar said it has been targeted to achieve 100 percent vaccination in respect of second dose. Asking the people to go for isolation once they are found having symptoms, he said that the people can also get admitted to hospitals following the advice of doctors.

Asserting that the District Administration has made preparations such as oxygen supplies, availability of beds and ventilators etc. for treatment of COVID patients, he said that the people need not panic as the Government has kept all medical facilities ready for meeting any emergencies.
