Do not drain rain water collected on terrace to UGD line

June 8, 2018

Mysuru: MCC Executive Engineer (UGD Division) in a press release has alleged that many house owners in city drain the rain water collected on terrace directly to Under Ground Drainage (UGD) system which resulted in UGD overflowing during rainy season resulting in sewage water flowing on roads.

Hence the house owners have been asked to connect the drain line from terrace to storm water drains.

The Executive Engineer further stated that solid wastes including plastic from hotels and hostels were being thrown into the UGD system resulting in frequent blockage of line which should be stopped. Girls hostels have been asked to install incinerators for disposing used sanitary napkins.
