Doctors average life span is 60 years: Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji

February 27, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji said that true meaning of the saying ‘Vaidyo Narayano Harihi’ can be understood, only if we understand the significance of a doctor’s service.

Speaking after inaugurating the third free heart check-up, Angiogram and Angioplasty Camp organised by Suyog Hospital in city recently, Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji said: “The average lifespan of a doctor who strives for longevity of others is 60 years. While the humans live for an average of 70 years, with male expected to live for average 65 years and female 70 years. But the doctors live for an average of 60 years and imagine the extent of stress they experience at job. If we understand this, our respect for doctors will grow further.”

The doctors are revered as ‘Vaidyo Narayano Harihi’ for the reason that they posses energy to fix the body in a healthy way, when we fail to keep the body in good health, he said.

The Swamiji also dissuaded people from visiting the clinic or hospital having unkempt plants that are left to dry, as it is believed that a doctor who cannot nurture a plant, cannot treat the patients. But Suyog Hospital is an exception, as the plants and trees in the premises behold the eyes of visitors.

The Swamiji advised people to avail treatment the moment they understand the symptoms of a disease at the early stage. If treated, there wouldn’t be any inevitability to go to hospital for a treatment.

A book ‘Heart Attack,’ authored by Dr. S.P. Yoganna, Chairman of Suyog Hospital, was released on the occasion.

Adichunchanagiri Mysuru Branch Mutt Seer Sri Someshwaranatha Swamiji, former Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Dr. N.S. Ramegowda, Suyog Hospital Trustee Sudha Yoganna, Managing Director Dr. Suyog Yoganna, Medical Director Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Directors Dr. Seema Yoganna and Dr. Yashitha Raj were present.
